Police catch man suspected of robbing Eugene Bi-Mart pharmacy

EUGENE, Ore. -- The man suspected of robbing a Bi-Mart pharmacy Monday afternoon was caught, Eugene Police said.

Eugene police say that at about 2:18 p.m., a man with bright red hair robbed the Bi-Mart pharmacy at 1680 W. 18th Avenue.

Police say the man handed a note to the pharmacist and made off with prescription drugs.

The man ran across the street to the Albertson's Store, changed his clothing, and went westbound down 18th to his house, Patrol Sergeant Dale Dawson said.

Dawson said officers took Shane Michael Wendland, 31, (at right) into custody at his home off of W 18th Avenue a short time later.

Eugene Police recovered and returned all the stolen pharmaceuticals.
