Dense fog causes crashes near Albany, Corvallis on I-5

Dense fog coupled with frost left drivers with dangerous road conditions on Interstate 5 Sunday morning, Oregon State Police said.

Officials reported that state troopers and Linn Co. deputies were called out to handle a number of fog-related traffic crashes along I-5 south of Albany.

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for Albany, Corvallis, Eugene and the surrounding areas until around noon Sunday.

With dense fog, the weather service warns that visibility could be cut to less than a quarter-mile.

Law enforcement asks that drivers keep alert and maintain appropriate speeds and following distances when heading through the area.
