Gunman makes off with iPhones, cash
EUGENE, Ore. -- A man is still on the loose after police say he robbed the west Eugene Radio Shack at gunpoint Thursday morning.
Police officials said that a man armed with a gun entered the Radio Shack at W. 11th and Tyinn St. (near the west Eugene U.S. Post Office) nearly an hour after the store opened at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
The suspect brought out a gun and ordered the sole employee to give him the contents of the cash register before demanding that the clerk let him into the rear of the store, Eugene police said.
The clerk told police that the man stole a number of unopened iPhones before leaving the store.
By the time officers responded to the scene with a K-9 unit the man had already gotten away on foot.
Police describe the man as a black male in his 20's, around 5-foot, 8-inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing red shoes, black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt with "Everlast" written in white lettering across the front.
Eugene Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call 541-682-5147.

He's just another uneducated kid making a bad choice that I'm sure he'll later regret. No reason to get race and politics involved in this. He didn't hurt anybody and he clearly didn't plan on it, if that was the case people would have been hurt. Just leave it alone and let the police do their jobs.
Let's see... black guy, tall, thin, in his 20s, in black sweat/gym suit. Something tells me that few of our Eugene's Finest are gunna' run him down on foot. All successful criminals exploit their natural abilities.Since I have been unemployed for 2 years, I might be tempted to knock off a radio shack if I weren't white, fat, and well over 20. Here's a prime example of how our education system has failed us. We have an adult here who can't spell fourth grade words. When you take a look at the bigger picture these uneducated adults have uneducated children, who most likely turn into criminals. When you invest in schools and the educational well being of a citizen you are investing in the future of countless others.The more we start to invest in our kids, the less criminals, and the less jails we need.Â
