ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man was arrested early Sunday morning, after police say he was impaired and drove into the side of Papa Murphy's Pizza at One Champion Plaza.

Authorities say that at about 2:00 am, witnesses reported seeing a pickup traveling at a high rate of speed heading North on Airport Road.

They told police that the vehicle hit the curb, jumped the sidewalk and struck shrubbery and a light pole just northwest of the Champion Car Wash.

Witnesses told police the pickup then continued until it struck the side of Papa Murphy's, causing significant damage.

Police identified the driver as Michael John Querubin, 48, of Roseburg.

Authorities say the man was arrested by Roseburg police without incident.

Police charged Querubin with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, reckless driving and unlawful possession of meth.

Querubin was cited and released from the Douglas County Jail.

Police say the damage to the building was estimated to be in excess of $20,000.
