Police: Two arrested after finding drugs, silenced guns
WOLF CREEK, Ore. -- Drug enforcement officers arrested two people after they searched a Wolf Creek home and found silenced firearms, heroin, meth and around 15 pounds of marijuana, Oregon State Police officials said.
Sergeant Jim Johnson with the state police said that detectives from the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement team were investigating a house in the 3600 block of Leland Road what was linked to drug activity.
On Thursday, state police officials helped detectives serve a search warrant at the house, where they arrested Sky Anthony Shipman, 34, and Kayla Marie Donnersbach, 22.
The RADE team searched the home and found around four ounces of heroin, a half-ounce of methamphetamine, 15 pounds of marijuana, and 16 firearms, officials report. Two of those guns (a handgun and a rifle) had silencer attachments.
Shipman and Donnersbach were both booked at the Josephine County jail on individual charges of manufacture and distribution of heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as two counts of possession of a silencer.
State Police said that while the raid was taking place, officers made two traffic stops and found two more pounds of pot, a handgun and small amounts of heroin and meth. Police didn't arrest the drivers in those traffic stops as they are still investigating the case.
Anyone with information regarding suspicious drug activity or marijuana growing operations is encouraged to call the RADE tip line at (541) 955-6970. The interagency narcotics RADE team is comprised of personnel from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, Oregon State Police, Josephine County District Attorney's Office, and the Josephine County Community Corrections.
I wonder if they want to sell those guns! I have cash.:)
i wonder if the meth makes them rust
"suppressor" is the correct name/term. the name/term "silencer" is a product of movies/media, and other ill informed. A suppressed firearm is anything but silent, contrary to Hollywood's portrayal.
Â
That said, it is completely legal to own a suppressor in any caliber in the State of Oregon and in the USA. As noted, it is expensive and a PITA to do it, but legal. Suppressors are heavily regulated/tracked.
Â
The two suppressed weapons in the article are indeed .22lr caliber firearms, a commonly suppressed caliber. It is safe to assume, since (according to the article & we all know how accurate the media is) they were arrested for "possession of silencers," these suppressed weapons were gained through illegal means. Likely stolen and traded or sold to them.
freedom of speach
if i wanted to make your life a living hell i would thread the end of your gun barrel
@Reality There is no way the reporter for this story could possibly know how the weapons were obtained. It was probably a guess or a twist of semantics purposely spewed by the cops for effect. I would be very surprised if the cops even let out information like that before the trial.
Yet another victim of the police state.
If the drugs were legal there would be no need for a silenced gun. Or an arrest.
The gun guys claim silencers are only used to protect people's hearing at gun ranges, and should be legal. Â I'm sure that was the intent of these scumbags, right??
there is no device that silencrs a gun muzzle blast, It supresses it to a safe state so your ear protection works properly
Is it true or is it Baldr-dash?
Â
answer: not true. When shooting at gun ranges ear protection is requiredÂ
@Baldr Odinson Oh and for the record, the two guns they show with silencers are 22LR guns. It is completely legal to have and own a silencer for that caliber in the state of Oregon. It's expensive, but indeed very legal.
Â
For someone who lurches around claiming to have the license on gun-truth, you don't seem to know much about actual gun laws or the guns themselves.
@OregonOrator  @Baldr Considering how heavily controlled suppressors are I think this is a perfect example at the failure gun control is at keeping weapons out of the hands of criminals. Bad people will obtain weapons by any means necessary despite how closely regulated they are. Even if suppressors were banned all it would do is keep law abiding citizens from owning them since the bad guys would simply go out and manufacture them themselves (though they probably wouldn't look as nice).
@Baldr Odinson Which "gun guys"? Please be specific. And no, you can't use a link to some anti-gun nut's blog that no one ever reads. No gun guys (or gals) we've ever hung around, and we hang around plenty have EVER claimed that. You do like to make shyt up don't you? That's why you and other liberals have zero credibility.  You just keep moving your goal post around like a bunch of drunken lemurs.
@OregonOrator  @Baldr why spew so much venom?
@drinkmorewater Quit being such a weenie.
Something tells me these guys wouldn't adhere to any of the new "gun control" laws that are being pushed. But I'm sure they would love to have law abiding citizens follow them though. Makes there life/jobs so much easier when they know potential victims are defenseless or have limited access to means to defend themselves.
@Twistthewrist Which also begs the question, what were his parents smoking and snorting when they came up with the grand idea to name their son "Sky"? No wonder he grew up with an attitude.
@OregonOrator  @Twistthewrist Who's gonna be the first to post the joke we are all thinking when it comes to drugs and a guy named "Sky"?
@Twistthewrist  @OregonOrator "scuse me, while I kiss the sky..........." - you mean that one?
@Twistthewrist @OregonOrator Do it common I dare ya ....naw I double dare ya=)
