Police: 'We've had an explosion and a fire'
Fire crews called in police when they saw evidence of an explosion inside the home.

EUGENE, Ore. - An explosion and fire Friday morning brought police to a home in West Eugene.

Fire crews called in police after finding evidence of an explosion, said Lt. Carolyn Mason with Eugene Police Department.

Police set up a perimeter and asked neighbors to stay in their homes while the bomb squad responded.

"We're in a residential neighborhood where we've had an explosion and a fire with some folks inside," Mason said. "We're not even going inside."

The two residents and their two dogs got out of the house and were being evaluated by medics, Mason said.

A fire marshal said the explosion was caused by an extraction process as part of a legal marijuana grow.

No one was arrested.
