SALEM, Ore. – Police are looking for a woman who they said robbed three Salem convenience stores in just over an hour early Sunday morning.
Lt. Jim Anglemier with Salem Police said the suspect description was the same in all three robberies. The woman showed the clerks a handgun during the robberies, but no shots were fired. The suspect didn’t hurt any of the clerks, police said.
"There's no indication she even knew how to handle a gun," said Michael Stevens, who works at US Market, one of the stores that was robbed.
The suspect is accused of robbing the following stores:
- 5:40 a.m., Plaid Pantry at 25th Street SE and State Street
- 6:48 a.m., Salem Market at Center Street and Hawthorne Avenue NE
- 6:50 a.m., US Market at 12th Street and Peace Street SE
Police are looking for a white woman in her late 20s or early 30s who is 5’4’’ to 5’8’’ tall. She has a medium to heavy build and long, maroon-dyed hair. She was wearing bright red lipstick, sunglasses and a baseball cap with a pony tail. She also wore a dark hoodie, dark jacket and blue jeans.
Police said she was seen driving a dark-colored Ford windstar minivan with a roof rack and no front license plate. An "unknown subject" was driving the van, police said.
Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Salem police.
