Police find 5 pounds of heroin at traffic stop

MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- Myrtle Creek Police arrested a California man Tuesday afternoon, after they say they found just over 5 pounds of heroin in the man's vehicle.
Authorities say that at about 2:00 p.m., and officer stopped a 2007 Nissan Maxima at milepost 111 northbound on Interstate 5.
An investigation during the stop led the police discovering the drugs hidden in the vehicle.
Officers arrested Luis Alfredo Barajas, 26, of San Jacinto, California.
Barajas was charged with unlawful distribution and possession of heroin and lodged in the Douglas County Jail.
Police say the heroin was estimated to be worth about $150,000.
Ummm Good!!! Look like little Black Forest smoked hams ready to be sliced thin at my favourite deli. Auf Wiedersehen Pedro!
@peace Ahhh man! Now you have me crave'n some Black Forest Ham and I have to wait till tomorrow to get to a deli....curse you evil peace!! I kid of course. :) Do love that ham though
@flor3nc3 ---a few snorts of that heroin burning on top of some aluminum foil will knockout your appetite for the rest evening. I kid of course too :D!
Douglas County seems to be the spot to get busted... Is he legal???
Why would you inquire about his citizenship? I'm sure he holds a matricula card. Probably came across to pick lettice and made a few wrong decisions along the way.
@11bravo ---plenty of heroin and lettuce in Salinas. He may not hold one if he is from Guatamala or Panama. Wether he does or not, I suspect only US Citizens mugshots are allowed to be posted online at the Douglas County Inmates site, for diplomatic reasons related to something like being signators to the Hague Convention. Probably depends on the type of crime too.
@Myownopinion! ---he may not be if he is not showing up at the DC Inmates site. Or, they are still busy busting the intended delivery/reception nodes along I-5. I bet this guy stopped off in Cannyonville for a game of Black Jack and made a drop there. He probably had 5 other drops to make from Roseburg to Eugene. All in a days work for him. Lot's of customers in DC and Lane B Jonesin' for the rest of the week. Such a nasty drug to get hooked on. Hope some local addicts use this bust as an opportunity to quit without going to jail for a bail @ of 250Gs for UP.  Â
His mug and booking info is not showing up at the Douglas County Inmates site. I wonder why. But "Crystal Hash" is still showing up>>>http://www.dcso.com/inmates_in_custody_details2.asp?inmateNO=1300095&inmate=<<<The Hash family just had to name their daughter "Crystal"? Good business name for her though in Roseburg.
A hispanic male in possession of a large amount of drugs....I almost sense a pattern developing.
He must be working a job that most U.S. citizens won't work...hhmmm make you wonder.
@flor3nc3 The pattern I have noticed is that most of the hispanic males in possession of a large amount of drugs are northbound on I-5 and get stopped in the Medford/Grants Pass area.Â
@hewhoo ---I have noticed a pattern of Greyhound buses alway being full up Northbound to Portland. But, plenty of seats empty going back. Some say, that magnet bags full of horse/meth are attached to the underbellies of these buses going north, in order to avoid what happened to Poncho yesterday.
