Police investigate armed gas station robbery in Dundee

DUNDEE, Ore. -- Police are investigating an early-morning armed robbery Sept. 1 at a gas station southwest of Portland.

At just after 3:30 a.m. Sept. 1, officers from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department were on the scene of armed robbery at the Arco gas station on Hwy. 99 near 1st Street.

Witnesses told police a man ran into the store and pointed a gun at the clerk and gave the clerk a pillow case to put the money in. The clerk then emptied the till with an undisclosed amount of cash as directed and then gave the pillow case to the assailant.

After he received the cash, the man ran out of the store and toward the train tracks behind the store.

Police said the robber was between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 and wore a mask and hoody.

Police used a a K9 unit to try to track the robbery suspect, but that came up empty.
