EUGENE, Ore. -- Dozens of officers responded to shots fired call at a home on Royal Avenue shortly after noon Monday.

Officers arrived to find that a man had a head wound, he was taken to the hospital with a scalp laceration.

Fire crews were called out to the house near the intersection of Royal and Echo Hollow Road to help with the injury at around 12:25 p.m. Monday. 

Police said witnesses reported hearing 3 to 5 shots fire.

Officials said the shooter left the home in a black Jeep Cherokee. They are still looking for the suspect vehicle, police at the scene said.

Witnesses told our news team that about six police vehicles, an ambulance and a fire truck were on-scene, partially blocking Royal Avenue in front of the home.
