Police get tip, arrest suspect after images appear on KVAL

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A man who got out of prison last September faces new charges accusing him of stealing televisions from a Springfield hotel, police said.
Officers picked up Jon Powell on Friday morning.
Police said the registered owner of a car caught on surveillance camera at the hotel January 4 called after the images appeared on KVAL TV and KVAL.com. The car's owner had lent the car to the man caught on camera in the pictures, Springfield Police said, and wasn't too happy to see the vehicle in association with a crime.
Police said Powell is a Eugene man who got out of prison last September.
Isn't there a saying, Snitches get Surgical sutures?

So sad .. Jon Paul is such a great man when he is clean and not getting loaded ... The unbelievable lengths that you will goto just to chase that next high!!! Addiction is such an insidious reality!
Crazy meth eyes.... back to jail with you!
Thank god this all took place in Springfield, at least the dumb ass won't get let out.
yes, but virtue of handling it at the municipal level, he can not be sent to prison. municipal authority (court) can not sentence felonies, and thus can't send people to prison. but, they can sentence him to 364 days in a municipal jail under a misdomeanor sentence. I guess we have to pick our battles.
@Reality If he is on parole, then he can be charged by the city and given his 364 days in addition to the State revoking his parole and sending him back to prison. Unlikely both will happen, but they could do it that way.
