EUGENE, Ore. -- Over 300 girls spent Sunday of feeling like a princess thanks to a local nonprofit group.

Most of the princesses in attendance are in foster care around Lane County.

The non-profit A Family For Every Child, who helps find loving homes for foster children, hosted the completely volunteer supported event at Valley River Center.

Coordinator Linzey Munger said that the day is all about putting the girls center stage.

“A lot of these girls … are in homes with lots of different kids and it is really rare that feel special, that they get to be the center of attention,” said Munger.

Each girl got her hair and makeup done before picking out a royal gown. The day ended with a lunch and dancing.

At the end of the free event the girls took home their own crown and slippers.
