Prosecutor diagrams family relations in double fatal shooting

COOS BAY, Ore. - A shooting that left two men dead Monday involved a family with a confusing family tree, the district attorney said.

Timothy Allen Henson (at right) faces two counts of aggravate murder, two counts of kidnapping and one count of assault.

District Attorney R. Paul Frasier said Henson shot and killed George Micheaux III and Milton Chester Leach. A shot also hit Vallena Ruth Tuell in the arm.

Investigators allege Henson forced Tuell and Ruth Sherrie Micheaux from the scene of the shooting, leaving the two men at the scene along Highway 101 dead or dying from their gunshot wounds.

All five people live on the same property in Myrtle Creek, Frasier said.

Tuell is married to Hansen, the suspected shooter. Ruth Sherrie Micheaux is Tuell's mother.

Ruth Sherrie Micheaux was also married to one of the victims, George Michaeux III; and had been married in the past to Leach. Neither man is Tuell's biological father, Frasier said.

The two woman have cooperated with investigators and are considered witnesses and victims in the case, Frasier said.

The initial investigation suggests an altercation occurred in the vehicle as it was driving north on Highway 101 with all five people in the vehicle, police said. At some point a gun was produced and fired inside the car, which then stopped.

The investigation is continuing but initially it appears that Leach and Mr. Micheaux were both fatally shot while outside of the vehicle after it stopped, police said.

One of the female passengers also suffered a gunshot wound to her forearm believed to have happened during the initial altercation inside the vehicle before it stopped. The vehicle then left the scene with Mr. Henson and the two females before being located by officers.
