Quake shakes beneath ocean off Coos Bay

COOS BAY, Ore. - A 4.4 magnitude earthquake shook under the Pacific Ocean about 162 miles off Coos Bay on the Oregon Coast, according to the US Geological Survey.

The quake rattled at a depth of 6.5 miles under ground just before 10 a.m. Friday.

The quake did not generate a tsunami, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
