Rocking for a cure: 'We'll be here, rocking around the clock!'

ALBANY, Ore. -- A group of women are rocking around the clock in front of an Albany store from Friday until Saturday, all in the name of finding a cure for cancer.

The members of Albany's Veterans of Foreign Wars post set up their rocking chairs in front of  their local Walmart store for their third annual 24 hour rock-a-thon. The rocking VFW crew is selling tickets for a raffle and collecting donations that will raise money for cancer research.

One of the women, Donna Dawson, said that today's sit-in that supports cancer research is part of the many events that Albany's VFW holds to help find a cure.

"We do the walk in June, we hold car washes every month ... provided the weather is good." Dawson said. "For today we'll be here, rocking around the clock!"
