Roseburg man charged in shooting of 3 sheep dogs
PRINEVILLE, Ore. (AP) - A Roseburg man and his brother face criminal mischief and animal abuse charges in the shooting of three sheep dogs.
The Great Pyrenees dogs were killed in late August when 59-year-old Craig Johnson of Bend and 66-year-old Paul Johnson of Roseburg were hunting in the Ochoco Mountains.
KTVZ reports they told deputies they thought they were wild dogs.
They didn't know about a large number of sheep being grazed in the area.
A Crook County grand jury indicted the brothers on Friday.
The dogs' owner, Gordon Clark of Madras, estimated their value at $7,500.

Idiots.
@SwiftlyJust Yes I agree, and calling them idiots is putting it mildly. I think I would have called them something else using more colorful language not suitable for readers under 55.
Great Pyrenees dogs do NOT look at all like wild dogs. Were the dogs attacking the men, or were they just wandering around? These guys just wanted to shoot something.
@SAB17 You are 100% correct, these guys just wanted to shoot something and I hope they get their hunting privileges revoked for life.  I'm not anti-gun, but this pair is a danger to one and all.
