Serious injury crash on Highway 20 east of Albany

ALBANY, Ore. -- One woman is in serious condition after she drove her station wagon into oncoming traffic on Highway 20 and crashed into two oncoming vehicles Sunday afternoon, Oregon State Police said.
The three-vehicle crash happened near milepost 10 of Highway 20, east of Albany. At around 2:30 p.m. Linda Cowdrey, 64 from Albany, drove her Plymouth station wagon into the opposite lane. Cowdrey hit a Dodge pickup truck and continued in the opposite lane until she crashed into a BMW station wagon nearly head on.
A Reach air ambulance was called out to take Cowdrey to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
The pickup's occupants, 44-year-old David Chambers from Lebanon and a 3 year-old child passenger were treated on scene for minor injuries. The BMW's driver, Shannon Blough, 32 from Oregon City, also had minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
The highway was closed while emergency crews cleared the crash site.
This crash marks the third injury-related crash on Highway 20 in the past 24 hours.
