Sheriff: Man beat, choked and dragged woman into his house
COOS BAY, Ore. -- A Coos Bay man is in jail, after Sheriff's deputies say a man beat up a woman and dragged her into his house.
Authorities say that they received a 911 call just before 2 p.m. on Thursday, from someone who said they saw a man beating and choking a woman in the street on Welch Road.
The caller told police the man then drug the woman into a residence.
Coos County Sheriff's deputies and officers from the Confederated Tribal Police and contacted the man, identified as Douglas Paul Reed, 49.
The 48-year-old female told them that she knew Reed, and that they had, "a longstanding dislike for one another," officials said.
Reed was arrested and taken to the Coos County Jail, charged by authorities with second degree kidnapping, strangulation and fourth degree assault.
The sheriff's office says the woman was checked out at the scene by medical personnel.
You know when you see that someone has been convicted of abusing a child and you think to yourself that you hope that they get a bruiser for a cell mate, well this guy is how I picture the bruiser.
Coos Bay is a great place to be from.
