Sheriff: Man arrested after putting dog in hot oven

LYONS, Ore. -- A Lyons man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated animal abuse for allegedly placing a Chihuahua-Pincher dog in a heated oven.
Kevin Dean Parrish, 20, was booked Monday in the Marion County Jail in lieu of $10,000.
Marion County deputies said Parrish was watching the 9-pound dog, Kudo, for his grandmother, who was out of state.
Parrish told deputies he became enraged on Friday after Kudo nipped him, so he grabbed the dog and allegedly started punching him in the head. Deputies said Parrish also admitted to trying to strangle Kudo, according to a news release from the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
Since he had already pre-heated the oven to 350 degrees to cook some enchiladas, Parrish told
investigators he then decided to put the dog in the oven, deputies said.
"Parrish said he was prepared to leave him there, but he suddenly heard his brother coming into the house," the news release said.
Parrish' brother and father rescued 6-year-old Kudo, taking the dog to a veterinarian. Kudo suffered cuts and bruises, his hair was singed and three of his legs were badly burned, deputies said.
The suspects father notified deputies about the case, and they launched an investigation.
Parrish, who has no criminal record, admitted to deputies that he has anger issues and snapped when dealing with the dog.
Parrish's father is taking care of Kudo and the dog will continue receiving care at the vet clinic.
Wow, I am all for justice for innocent abused animals but I am totally amazed about how quick a response this act got from authorities when a couple in a nearby neighborhood has repeatedly stolen from victims, harassed, threatened, assaulted victims, including online/physical stalking of a dozen more victims and every call to police where the victims wished to press charges were totally ignored.  On one call when police were called on the wife for chasing and threatening another neighbor when told to stay off their property yelling "What are you going to do about it?", knowing she would never be held accountable because authorities do not step up. This couple even menaced one neighbor with their gun after the neighbor called the police because the male was assaulting another neighbor while he was in charge of his two toddler grandchildren.  Yet, this couple is allowed to own guns and have a concealed permit! Police have all the complaints documented along with the menacing of a person with a firearm, so why is their concealed permit not revoked? Why are their guns not confiscated when it is very clear both have anger management issues including assaulting their minor teenage son to where he was bleeding and had to run to the safety of an older sibling living elsewhere and when police were called, the son will not press charges out of fear of his fatherâs temper and drunken rages. Another incident where the couple was in a drunken domestic altercation, their 8 year old daughter had to call her older sibling for help who called police.   Just another Jeanette Maples in the making; and who will be held responsible. Letâs jump on the band wagon for a defenseless animal, but leave defenseless neighbors and children to fend for themselves. From police and court records this looks like the classic âTed Bundyâ syndrome; sociopathic narcissistâs reek havoc on a community all the while they volunteer at organizations that promote non-violence and person safety as a cover; in an attempt to boost their very low self esteems.

The kid abusing the dog needs to be smacked around then locked in a tanning table at the highest temperature.
This father has probably been needing help to deal with his little $hitbag for a while...and hasn't been able to get it.Despite the need for better options (or ANY options!), kids like this fall through the cracks until they do something heinous. Unfortunately, since his crime was against a poor, defenseless little dog...he'll probably be out of jail and under the radar again in nothing flat.:(Â
@SwiftlyJust you mean if he had stabbed some one multiple times he would still be in jail like the guy from eugene who is out no bail.
@censoredirawoody True, Woody. Nothing surprises me anymore. I'll just keep carrying my gun in case I need to shoot the ba$stards. We have a very warped system these days, don't we?
I am going to take a drive to Lyons,OR. and look for this little puke and shove him in my tail pipe and drive back to
Eugene and pull him out at greenhill and have a fund raiser to kick the dumb ass for 5 buck a wack . should raise a little cash maybe.
 @IAMHIGHÂ
Beautiful! An Entrpreneur! Mark me down for $10 Iam
hot dog
That poor dog! Â People like this often go on to do harm to other humans. Â Glad he's being charged!
@Baldr Odinson Being charged is not enough. Mandatory monitoring and psychotherapy would be a start. He "lost his temper" ? Then what will he do to a small child if the child nips him like they have been known to do at times.
Cute dog, dogs are pretty smart, it obviously figured out this guy was a total douch.e bag.Â
Â
And now we know he is.Â
Â
Mental Health Issues.Â
Â
Â
I hope this guy never has children.
This kid may have major issues. The cops need investigate further to ensure all guns in the house are locked up. This is the type of kid that might commit mass shootings.
@Ah Shucks Hmmm, mass shootings you say? Like the Police Lt who just today murdered his wife and 7 year old son, set the home on fire then killed himself?  Maybe we need to take guns away fron the Police. :)Â
"MAY have major issues"??
Â
Gee, ya think?
Â
Note that this psycho did not use a gun. This is an example of why we need stricter oven control laws.
Â
M uch respect to the father of this loser.
Many abusers of women/children/seniors have a history of animal abuse.
POS....put him in the oven.
@Fennforests he isnt jewish, my bad
OMG, how horrible! While it must have been a hard decisions to turn his son in, I am grateful that the father did. Maybe this will help the young man get some much needed help and learn to manage his behavior better.Â
@XoztedMama Correct and the father probably didn't want to be responsible when he son stole someones firearm and went on a shooting spree.
