Sheriff: Man stabbed with broken bottle during fight

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Sheriff's deputies say a fight turned dangerous when a broken bottle came into play Monday evening.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, authorities were called to a report of disturbance between neighbors on Wild River Drive.
Witnesses say Johnny Phipps, 53, and Norman Wagner, 70, were fighting when Phipps struck Wagner with a whiskey bottle, and then stabbed him with the broken bottle.
Wagner suffered a large cut on his neck, his torso, and his left ring finger, and Phipps had a cut on his head.
Both men were transported to Mercy Medical Center.
Phipps was cited with first degree assault.

It was a philosophical discussion about Stephen Hawking, Phillips was lauding Hawkings theories of gravitational singularities, Black Holes, and Hawking Radiation, Wagner pointed out the the Hadron Collider proved Hawking was wrong and that light speed collisions of protons did not produce Black holes or Hawking radiation, at this point, Phillips lost his temper , broke his beer bottle and stabbed Wagner. Â
Hopefully neither had aids or hepatitis. He is lucky he is not charged with attempted murder.Â
