GLENWOOD, Ore. -- Police arrested a man for stabbing his brother Thursday while the men were arguing at a homeless camp along the railroad tracks in Glenwood, the Lane County Sheriff's Office said.

The stabbing victim, Joseph Brumback, 27, of Eugene, was taken to the hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Officials said Brumback and his brother, 23-year-old Joshua Kirk (Blanchard) got into an argument at around 2 p.m. Thursday at a homeless camp near Bring Recycling. During the altercation, Kirk allegedly stabbed Brumback in the right of his back.

Paramedics took Brumback to Sacred Heart at Riverbend where he is being treated for the deep laceration to the right of his back, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies located Kirk in Glenwood Friday afternoon. He was booked into the Lane County Jail on a first-degree assault charge.
