MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- A Myrtle Creek man is behind bars, after deputies say he assaulted two people and threatened them with a gun late Wednesday night.

Deputies were called to a residence in the 200 block of Taylor Street in the Tri City area, for a report of an assault at about 11:15 pm.

Authorities say Timothy Cregan, 54, had been out drinking with a 43-year-old Winston man, when the two got into an argument.

Officials say Cregan threw the victim to the ground, assaulted him and threatened him with a gun.

That's when authorities say a 36-year-old neighbor confronted Cregan.  Cregan assaulted and also threatened that man with a firearm as well, according to deputies.

Officials say when the deputies tried to take Cregan into custody, they had to tell him several times to show them his hands, but say he refused. Deputies shocked Cregan with a Taser to take him into custody.

Cregan was arrested and lodged in the Douglas County Jail.

He is being charged by Sheriff's deputies with 2 counts of second degree assault, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of pointing a firearm at another, among many other charges.
