Sheriff: Stun gun ends chase in children's section of store

ROSEBURG, Ore. - A deputy used a stun gun to take a suspect into custody Tuesday in the children's section of a Fred Meyer store.

Justin Quinn Davis, 31, of Roseburg, Ore., faces accusations of theft, computer crime and other charges.

The case dates back to a car break-in on Jan. 17, 2012, on Thora Circle in north Roseburg. The victim reported someone stole a wallet with a credit car.

As the card was used around town, police identified Davis as a suspect.

On Tuesday, employees at Fred Meyer on Garden Valley Road in Roseburg alerted the sheriff's office when Davis tried to use the credit card.

A deputy went to the store around 5 p.m. and confronted Davis, who ran away through the store.

The deputy caught up to him in the children's section of the store and used a Taser stun gun to take Davis into custody.

Davis was jailed on charges of Computer Crime, Identity Theft, Second Degree Theft, Criminal Mischief, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Resisting Arrest and Third Degree Escape. Davis also had a felony warrant out of Del Norte County, Calif., the sheriff's office said.
