Sheriff: Wanted woman vanished in river

MAPLETON, Ore. - A woman who jumped in a river to escape police Thursday should be considered armed and dangerous, the sheriff said.

Tasha Marie "Jessie" Gustina, 31, was last seen around 2 p.m. when she plunged into the Siuslaw River near Stagecoach Road after attempting to elude police, the Lane County Sheriff's Office said.

Marine patrol deputies searched the river, to no avail.

Gustina is 5-foot-4 and 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing dark jeans and a dark sweatshirt.

Gustina is considered armed and dangerous by law enforcement.  Do not attempt to apprehend Gustina, the sheriff said. If you have seen her or know her whereabouts, the sheriff asks you to call 541-682-4141.
