Sheriff: Woman charged with stabbing at homeless camp

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. - A woman stabbed a man at a homeless camp Thursday morning and now faces charges for three attacks on the same man over the last 6 months, the Lane County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies arrested Colleen Aanell Barry, 41, on charges of Assault 1, Assault 2 and Assault 4 for three separate incidents, the sheriff said.

All three cases involve the same victim.

The sheriff's office got involved Thursday morning after a report of a stabbing at a homeless camp off Highway 99 near Cottage Grove. The victim, a 49-year-old man, was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The sheriff's office investigated and arrested Barry on one count of Assault 1.

Barry also faces Assault two for a previously unreported stabbing involving the same man six month ago, the sheriff said, as well as Assault 4 from November 2012.
