SALEM, Ore. – A 10-foot red tail boa constrictor may be on the loose in a Southeast Salem neighborhood, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
According to Sgt. Chris Baldridge, the owners said the 23-year-old snake named Nomad has been missing for about four days. It may have slithered out a second-story window from a home in the 800 block of Treewood Lane SE, the owners said.
Deputies have searched the area but haven’t found the boa.
They’ve also alerted nearby residents that the big snake may be in the area.
Baldridge said residents should keep an eye on their small children and pets until the snake is found.
The snake is green and tan. It doesn’t have a red tail, despite its name.
If you locate the snake please call the sheriff's office at 503-588-5032.
