Snow returns to Oregon Cascades

Snow returns to Oregon Cascades

EUGENE, Ore. - Here we snow again: winter returned to the Cascades on Wednesday, and forecasters said the fluffy white stuff would make the going get tougher before easing up by evening.

Accumulations of 5 to 10 inches are possible in the mountains Wednesday. Snow is forecast to peak later in the morning and afternoon, with an inch or more per hour likely to fall, the National Weather Service said.

Forecasters issued a winter weather advisory for the Oregon Cascades through midnight Wednesday.

By Wednesday afternoon, snow levels were expected to drop to 2,500 feet, well below pass level.

Be prepared for snow-covered roads and potential travel difficulties on mountain roads, forecasters said.
