Spring proves berry, berry good
EUGENE, Ore. - Abundant sunshine helped get people out to J & M Farms in Eugene to pick strawberries on Thursday.
Employees there said the fruit is at it's peak for the next three weeks.
"The berries are big and juicy, and it's just a great time to pick," said Margaret Stevenson. "You can get a bucket in 10 minutes. They're wonderful."
Stevenson said the wet spring caused the berries to ripen a bit late this year but said they are definitely at their best right now.
