Police respond to stabbing
SPRINGFIELD, Ore.- Springfield Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 479 35th St. late Sunday night.
Police say a fight broke out between two men at the house when 30-year-old Michael Cole confronted 33-year-old Paul Dixon for cutting across the yard at the house where Cole was staying.
Dixon later stabbed Cole in the torso.
Police say Cole was taken to Riverbend Hospital for treatment.
Dixon left the scene before officers arrived, but thanks to witnesses he was later arrested at his house.
Dixon faces an assault charge at Lane County Jail.
