GERVAIS, Ore. – Many of the largest pumpkins and squash in the Northwest were in Gervais on Saturday for the annual Bauman Great Pumpkin Weigh Off.

A Eugene man brought the largest squash ever recorded in Oregon. Scott Holub’s squash weighed in at 1,175 pounds.

Clyde Winston of Chehalis, Wash., took top honors with the largest pumpkin at 1,576 pounds. More than 30 giant pumpkins hit the scale.

The Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers association oversaw and judged the giant pumpkins and squash at the farm, according to event spokesman Jim Beriault.

The giant pumpkins will be on display at Bauman Farms through Oct. 31.
