Ed Dickson plays dodge ball with kids at the Boys and Girls Club in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. - Super Bowl champion Ed Dickson of the Baltimore Ravens - and formerly the Oregon Ducks football team - hosted a barbecue for the Boys and Girls Club of Eugene on Thursday.

He's launching a foundation partnership with the Boys and Girls Club to help the club host more kids - and eventually build a new facility.

"It means the world for me to be here right now," Dickson told KVAL News. "I mean to see all these kids and all their smiling faces, feed a couple of kids. The first thing i thought of is what can I do fun to get my face out here so their parents will know what I want to accomplish."

Last year, the Boys and Girls Club had to shut its doors because of a lack of funding. Now they serve hundreds of kids every week - and could serve more in the future, thanks to Dickson and others.
