TV series films in living Oregon ghost town

BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) — The Eastern Oregon ghost town of Sumpter has been active this summer.
The Baker City Herald reports that a television crew is producing a multi-episode series in and around Sumpter with the working title of "Ghost Mine."
The series tentatively scheduled to air this November on Syfy (formerly the Sci-Fi Channel) mixes the town's rich legacy of gold mining with anecdotal tales of various hauntings.
Sumpter's population reached about 3,000 during its heyday before the First World War.
The town never recovered from a fire in August 1917 that destroyed most of its buildings, and its population today is about 200.

I am not sure why they call it a Ghost town, more people live there than some of the other small towns, like Unity. Have hunted in Sumpter for years, beautiful area for deer, elk, cougar, bear and sheep. Large population of deer right in town. Also one of the largest flea markets in the state around the 4th of July. Many hundreds of miles for ski mobiles and quads. Great little town.
looks like a nice place to visit
