EUGENE, Ore. - Hundreds of Duck fans got out the yellow and green early Saturday morning near Autzen Stadium for the first Oregon game of the season.
"We've been here since I think 8 or 8:30, so it's definitely an all day event," said Duck fan, J. D. Ditz. "It's been a long off season and I've been counting down since the bowl game."
Fans who camp out every year brought their decked out campers and booming music for a day of celebrating the start of a new season.
"I live for football season," Ditz said. "Fall is undoubtedly the best time of the year."
Fans are excited for new players taking the field this football season.
"Mariota's going to take the Ducks to the ship, we're going all the way baby," said Duck fan David Snow.
Duck fans are also thrilled to see returning players taking the field as well.
"I'm excited to see Huff have the season he's supposed to have for a long time, and Colt is going to absolutely destroy the secondary," Snow said.
Fans were already throwing out bets Saturday afternoon that the Ducks had their first game in the bag.
"Arkansas State, I think they'll score points but they won't be able to keep up with the speed and the talent of the Ducks," Ditz said.
Fans are also hopeful for a winning season all around on top of the first game.
"We have an awesome football team and a good coach," Duck fan Harry Plouse said. "They're going to win all year."
