Tater truck trouble spills spuds on I-5
GRANTS PASS, Ore. - A truck transporting taters dumped some spuds on Interstate 5 after being hit from behind by another rig.
Transit workers used a front-end loader to clear the potatoes from the road.
The crash and spill closed one lane of I-5 north of Grants Pass for about an hour.
The crash happened just after 7 a.m. Monday when a truck driven by Raymundo Hernandez, 55, of Long Beach, Calif., hit the rear of a trailer full of taters being hauled by Jose Felix, 46, of Hanford, Calif.
Hernandez was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment. Felix was not injured.
