Teen hurt in truck crash dies at hospital

PHILOMATH, Ore. - A teen injured in a crash died at the hospital from his injuries, the Benton County Sheriff's Office said.

Tyson Lee Schreiber, 19, from Alsea, Ore., was driving westbound on Highway 34 in a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup just after midnight Saturday morning when he lost control and drove into a ditch, the sheriff's office said.

The pickup rolled on the highway several times. Schreiber was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis by the Corvallis Fire Department with critical injuries. Shreiber later died from his injuries around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to investigate the crash. The initial investigation indicates speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, the sheriff's office said.
