Teen to stand trial on encouraging child sex abuse
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Aaron Thomas Martin, 18, is in the Douglas County Jail after he was transferred from the Juvenile Detention Center.
Martin, who just turned 18, had been lodged in juvenile detention after charges were filed against him of encouraging child sex abuse in the first degree, as well as using a child in the display of sexually explicit conduct.
A spokesperson from the Douglas County District Attorney's Office says Martin was originally charged in May of 2011, after investigators said he had distributed the pictures.
Citing the ongoing investigation, the DA's office couldn't comment on any further details on the case.
Martin was originally free pending trial, but he allegedly committed a new crime against a family member, and was taken into custody.
His trial is set for February 22.
