Earth Day at Kennedy Middle School

EUGENE, Ore. - Students at Kennedy Middle School participated in a variety of Earth Day activities Tuesday.

One of the class sessions showed students the power of wind. Students built their own windmills, then tested their strength against a fan.

Tim Whitley with EWEB said it's important to teach students of all ages the importance of renewable energy sources.

"These kids are going to be making decisions about our planet pretty soon," he said. "So the more good, scientific knowledge they have, the better decisions they'll be able to make in the future."
