Three OSU football players arrested on assault charges

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Three Oregon State football players were arrested early Saturday morning on assault and disorderly conduct charges, according to inmate lists at the Benton and Linn County jails.
Corvallis police arrested Rudolph Fifita, Tyler Rosa and Dyllon Mafi. Police took Fifita to the Linn County Jail. Rosa and Mafi were taken to the Benton County Jail.
According to Corvallis Police Lt. Cord Wood, the three players were at the Impulse Bar and Grill at 1425 NW Monroe when they got into an argument with a man and assaulted him.
A second person got involved in the fight and was also assaulted, Wood said.
- Mafi, a junior linebacker, faces charges of assault (3rd degree), disorderly conduct and misrepresentation of age by a minor. He is being held on $161,000 bail.
- Rosa, a junior defensive tackle, faces charges of assault (3rd degree) and disorderly conduct (2nd degree). He is being held on $157,500 bail.
- Fifita, a senior defensive end, faces charges of assault (3rd degree) and disorderly conduct (2nd degree). He is being held on $157,500 bail.
The Beavers are preparing to face Texas in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 29.
Little boys gone wild. They should be banned from playing football forever if convicted of this!
Idiots! So hope that man was worth throwing away your future! That man must be a very special man that you decided he was worth saying goodbye to a promising future. Good going idiots!
What is disturbing is there is no sign of remorse in these mug shots-only smugness.
So it's all about sports, and nothing about accountability? I hope they all get serious jail time as society does not need their kind. If this is all about sports then we are doomed as a country.
@Sparky62---I agree, that is disturbing. But, it will sure be a different picture when they wake up in that stinky jail, with a bad hangover. Without the booze and bimbos around they might have been gentleman enough to just ignore an irritant, and one of them should have stepped in to break up violence before it escalated. Looks like one of them was underage and should not have been there at all. Assault is a serious offense, especially given the size advantage of these guys. I just hate seeing the whole school and fans suffer because of it. My sympathy is for the team AND the people assaulted. I quess the Beavers will have to win the ALAMO without Larry, Curly, Moe on  Bestosterone.
Let's see...a linebacker. defensive tackle, and a defensive end. Combined weight, more than a volkswagon, Combined strength, more than enough to toss a volkswagon across the curve. Whomever was pissing them off must have been a bit drunk too. Looks like they got arrested before anyone died. Just 86 them from that bar and make them all apologize so we can watch them play in their last game of the season.
Just like the ducks.... they are old enough to know better... get a life!!!
I have to say, it is a definite change to see the Beaver players getting in trouble, usually it's the Ducks that are getting arrested weekly and then told "oh, never mind you're a duck so all is forgotten ". Riley will not put up with the sh** that Kelly seems to brush aside for the benefit of a win!  . These guys aren't only football players, they are also students who visit local grade schools preaching good sportsmanship and positive life skills. Maybe not the three mentioned above, but here in Eugene the Ducks regularly go to local schools preaching this stuff and then go get arrested the next weekend. That's not the example they should be setting for future athletes.Â
Well thats what happens when you mix bad attudes and alcohol with big dumb jocks.. Beavers SUCK=))
Obviously it's another case of testosterone poisoning. Jocks of any kind but especially football just can't turn it off.Â
why not wait till a few facts are in before running a story?Â
@drinkmorewater Because the facts will be obfuscated by their attorneys in court if this actaully went to trial and most likely the charges will probably be plead out with no actual 'facts' presented in court or anywhere else. There are more allleged details on other news sites...regarding at 2:20 am confrontation between one of them with another patron near the restroom which resulted in the first blow, followed up by the other two getting involved and then a third person coming to the aid of the first 'victim' and then hm getting slugged by one of the three as well. Thos are close to 'facts' as there will ever be.
what not enough physical assault on the field so they brought some home
@censoredirawoody who knows what happened.  This is what I know. Assault is bad on ones record. That said, a few players out of 50 or so on Beavers sign a pro contract.  That leaves 10-20 players maybe getting a degree.  The players not going pro are bringing in huge amounts of money via TV sponsorship.  A lifetime of injuries for the University. Football is not playing tiddlywinks.  If the cameras were placed differently one would see a bit more of the intensity.  It is hard to turn off that intensity.  They did wrong most likely. One does not see track or tennis players doing this.
@drinkmorewater what these players go through. And what they do for their universities. Is why I believe they should be paid.
@IAMHIGH---No, I am  Duck Alumni, but I really want to see Oregonians win both the Fiesta and the Alamo. Too bad we couldn't have a CIVIL WAR BOWL! Such great bar room brawls there would be in Corvallis and Eugene.Â
@peace You must be a Beaver fan Huh? sorrry =))
Any other smartass lightweight dweeb provocateurs that like to crack off at ears range of BESTOSTERONE ready to wake up and do their job 4 days after your figgy pudding?
@givupongod @drinkmorewater--- yes they should be paid! Not just for all the money they make for the MAN as exploited athletes...but for the catharsis they provide for society away from warfare. Football is a battlefield w/o artelliary and bombs. These brave, brawn, and scholarly youth just had a bad day. I do not think they deserve giant mugshots in the press. They were just were blowing off some steam with a little too much beer OR BESTOSTERONE after final exams. Post the 10% bail and get them back in the ALAMO!!!Â
I know the bar where this happened. Its been open a few years now, and the bar that was in the space before it had the same angry jock aššhole problems (which led to it being shut down).
@RyanTee82 is that where Jailbaiters, I mean Tailgaiters used to be, or is it where the Mexican bar was?Â
@moej @RyanTee82---Anybody ever notice these studs seem to have Mexican names?
And they were slated for the Alamo Bowl. Maybe, those bookie cartels came into town to influence the spread. And, these humble youth got swept up into something bigger than than them. Bit of a conspiracy notion. But, whoever can guess the winner of all 30 bowl games, gets 200 grand? Good Luck with that. I think it is 2 the 30th power. Better odds than the jackpot of OREGON MEGABUCKS.
