Police: Traffic stop leads to meth, stolen gun

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg police made a routine traffic stop on Friday, that they say led to the discovery of meth and a gun stolen out of Douglas County.
Authorities say that just after 2:00 a.m. Friday morning, an officer pulled over a 1999 Dodge Durango for a minor traffic violation in the 2800 block of Edenbower Blvd.
The officer identified the driver as David Allen Spencer, 34, of Eugene. He found that Spencer had a warrant for his arrest out of Lane County.
During the investigation, officials say a consent search led to the discovery of a quarter ounce of meth and two firearms. One of the guns, a 9mm, was reported stolen out of Douglas County.
Spencer was arrested and lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges of unlawful possession and delivery of meth, felon in possession of a firearm and first degree theft.
Spencer is not eligible for bail, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Web site.
Tweekers are easy for the police to profile. It's like shooting fish in a barrel.Â
