Troopers: DUII driver hits police car, injures officer
BEND, Ore. - A police officer conducting a traffic stop was njured when a drunk driver rear-ended his patrol car Tuesday night, Oregon State Police said.
Bend Police Officer Justin Lovrien, a 10-year veteran of the force, had just concluded a traffic stop on the Bend Parkway at 11:20 p.m.
He was seated in his patrol car when Tina Rae Taylor, 35, of Bend crashed her 1999 Toyota Corolla into the rear of the stationary police car, state police said.
Officer Lovrien was taken by ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend with minor injuries. He was treated and released.
Taylor was not injured. Troopers arrested her on charges of DUII, assault in the third degree and reckless driving.
Paul Kersey - It sounds as if you've had a few run-ins with the law yourself that have left you bitter. Perhaps cleaning up your own act would help.
Â
Jason Marks - Where in the article is a gun mentioned? Do you really need to bring guns up in a story about a law offficer beig injured by someone doing something illegal (driving drunk)?
Â
Peace - Please bring your mind back up out of the gutter.Â

I realize that everyone has the right to express their own opinion and that is exactly what I am doing. Expressing my opinions of, what in my opinion are uncalled for comments.Â
Â
Â
@WildTangent ---So who or what makes you the moral authority on this comment site? And, we all know what they say about opinions
That's why I seldom give my serious opinions in this forum, I'd rather ejaculate jokes, be a sarchastic fool and even self-deprecate myself in "my" liesure time (not yours).
On a more sober note, I write still more comments offering my sympathy and condolences for all the victims of bad news, and asking questions from others to find remedies and apologizing to people when I am wrong.
If we have a minder like you scolding us with your OPINIONS what good is the 1st Am. anyways?
Well, just go ahead and Peace on me and the 1st Am. why don't you.
But make sure you have plenty of toilet paper.
This type of accident is called "okama" in Japanese. Okama means homosexual and refers to the act/accident of being mounted from behind rather embarrassingly and/or painfully. OUCH!!! She really nailed him with her strap on.
Drunks kill and injure more people than a gun does.Â
@Jason Marks ---and of course the prohibition of alcohol just made society worse: rum runners, bootleggers, blindness and death from hacks, untaxed revenue, police afraid of gansters, and a mafia underworld that still exists today.
If that police state money maker wasn't parasitizing the driving public and was elsewhere looking to solve real crime... he wouldn't have gotten hurt.
@Paul Kersey. Are you thinking there should not be any traffic laws? That would really make the community more safe. Who cares how fast people drive or if they run stop lights anyway when there are real crimes to solve. (Note the sarcasm in my typing)
@Chemla @Paul Kersey. ---reminds me of an old episode of Batman, where the Joker, the Penguin, and the Riddler are permitted to run/drive amok through the streets of Gotham at any speed through any red light whilst all the traffic cops do nothing.
Glad she crashed into another vehicle before driving down the road and taking out a car head on or a pedestrian. Just another day in the life of a cop. Always the drunk driver left unscathed.
Don't know which will be laughing the hardest. This woman's husband or the cop's presinct buddies.
Hope they give the officer the rest of the week off so he doesn't have to listen to all of their jokes during desk time.Â
