Trucker hurt when rig hauling garbage crashes near Eddyville

EDDYVILLE, Ore. - A trucker suffered minor injuries when his rig drove off the road in a curve and overturned, spilling its load of garbage.

Toledo Fire Department personnel pulled the driver from the wreckage after the 8:30 a.m. crash.

He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Highway 20 remained restricted to one lane controlled by a flagger while Oregon DOT coordinated cleanup of the garbage and removal of the truck and trailer, state police said.

The road is the main route between Corvallis and Newport.
