Police: Drunk driver sends two to hospital

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Two people are in the hospital with serious injuries after a drunk driver collided with a motorcycle at around 11 p.m. Saturday night, police said.

The driver, 28-year-old David Fernando McNair, was headed down Main St. before he turned onto 37th. He made the turn in front of a motorcycle carrying two people, resulting in a collision that threw the riders from the motorcycle, Springfield police said.

Police said the victims riding the motorcycle were taken to Riverbend Hospital with serious injuries. Officials said that they do not appear life threatening.

McNair was arrested and taken to the Lane County Jail on charges of DUII, Reckless Driving and Assault II.
