SALEM, Ore. – Police are looking for a man who they said robbed two people at gunpoint outside a Salem bar Friday night.

It happened outside Shooters Café and Saloon on Silverton Rd. NE, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the victims, Josh Roniger, said he wasn’t hurt in the robbery, but is still shaken up. He said he chased after the suspect as he drove away in an SUV.

“It happened so quick that I didn’t have time to do anything,” Roniger said. “I was walking out, turned and said something to my friend and as soon as I turned around this guy gets out of a black SUV telling me to give him my wallet and her purse.”

Roniger says the suspect grabbed his wallet out of his hand and drove away in the SUV. He ran after it and was able to read three of the letters on the Oregon license plate.

“They actually stopped at the red light but I didn’t get up quick enough and at that point they were pretty much gone.”

Police said the suspect is a Latino man in his 20s who is about 5’8’’ tall and has a stocky build. His large black SUV had an Oregon license plate with the letters CVO on it.

If you have any information about the suspect, you’re asked to call Salem Police.
