UO: Story about Dalai Lama visit 'isn't true'

EUGENE, Ore. - The University of Oregon denies reports that the Dalai Lama plans to speak in Eugene next year.
The Oregonian newspaper reported that the Tibetan spiritual leader would visit Portland and Eugene and speak on the UO campus.
UO spokesman Phil Weiler told KVAL News on Thursday that just "isn't true."
Weiler said the UO has extended invitations to the Dalai Lama for several years. There isn't a confirmed plan for him to visit Eugene, Weiler said.
