EUGENE, Ore. - A restored B-17 touring the country by air visited Eugene on Friday.

Aviation buffs shows up to watch the plane takeoff, land and perform four circuits over Eugene.

"It was so stable for one thing," said Al Steimmetz, 91, who was a B-17 gunner in World War II. "And of course it was a tail dragger, which to me always felt better than a nose wheel."
