Man, dog escape burning truck
EUGENE, Ore. - A man and his dog escaped from his truck as the camper went up in flames Thursday afternoon.
The fire on Beltline Road brought traffic to a crawl, with the backup in westbound lanes stretching almost 4 miles.
The man said he stopped and got out of the truck when he smelled smoke.
Flames engulfed the camper.
Firefighters managed to knock down the blaze in a few minutes.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
