Wandering wolf
In this Dec. 16, 2011 photo, U.S. Fish and Wildlife biologist John Stephenson examines a 5-inch by 5-inch wolf track near the south boundary of Crater Lake National Park, Ore., while on the trail of the gray wolf known as OR-7. Stephenson didn't spot him, but found tracks in the snow from a single wolf and the carcass of an injured elk calf that had been fed on. (AP Photo/The Oregonian, Richard Cockle)
