Wanted man found dead on beach

TILLAMOOK, Ore. - A body found on the beach Sunday has been identified as that of a Depoe Bay man who sped away from a police traffic stop on Highway 101 on Sept. 24.

Kyle L. Wallace, 20, was last seen driving away from a police traffic stop on Hwy 101. The car was found abandoned about a mile away. A search of the area turned up no trace of Wallace.

At the time Wallace fled police, he was a wanted fugitive with multiple warrants.

People walking on the beach a 3/4 mile south of the dory boat launch in Pacific City on Sunday spotted the body on the beach. The body appeared to have washed ashore.

The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office said there is no evidence Wallace died as the result of a crime. The investigation is ongoing.
