Warm clothing drive begins in Eugene-Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A Lane County agency hopes to take some of the chill out of winter for low income families and the homeless.
Catholic Community Services is holding its annual winter clothing drive.
Collection boxes are set up at two dozen churches and local businesses.
Organizers say this gives people with new coats or hats from the holidays, a chance to give back.
"And they're willing to give away the old one that still has some life left in it.  That's a really good thing also about this time of year
is that people have some things that they are willing to donate," says C-C-S Director Thomas Mulhern.
Donations of winter coats, socks, mittens and more will be distributed free at the agency's main centers in Eugene and Springfield over
the next several weeks.  The clothing drive continues through February 17.
