The National Weather Service forecast a high of 70F for Eugene on Monday, just a degree shy of the record 71F set in 1925.

The temperature at the airport hit 74 sometime Monday afternoon, setting a new record high for March 24, according to National Weather Service records.

The forecast takes a turn for the normal the rest of the week, with highs in the 50s, lows in the 40s - and a near certainty of rain.
